GaitEase is a wearable technology designed to empower individuals, particularly the aging population, and those with mobility issues, to regain control and independence over own bodies.
Primary Research
By combining these research methods below, we developed a well-rounded understanding of both the user needs and the market environment, ensuring our project is grounded in solid data and stakeholder insights.
Quantitative Analysis: Online Survey-conducted to observe similarities in user behavior and understand user expectations from the product.
Stakeholder Analysis: Impact Assessment-analyzing the influence and impact of different stakeholders on the project to prioritize their needs and address potential concerns.
Literature Review: Studying academic papers, industry reports, and relevant publications to gather existing knowledge and theoretical frameworks related to the product.
Market Analysis: Analysis of Existing Products-Investigating existing products in the market to understand their features, strengths, and weaknesses.

Design Solution
GaitEase
A wearable technology designed to empower individuals.
Particularly the aging population, and those with mobility issues to regain control and independence.
Giving support to back, hips, legs while walking, driving and performing daily tasks.
The product utilizes advanced robotics and functional apparel technology.
Product Video
Portable battery
A waist-mounted portable battery powers the shin area, while extended straps distribute support to the upper legs.
The battery also powers the support of the back/hip area.
While driving, users can charge the wearable device using the car seat's charger battery for extended usage.
Back and back support
The back and hip support piece, crafted from nylon and polyester, bolsters these areas and enhances overall strength.
It connects with a Velcro belt, allowing users to find the best fit.
Straps and hooks
Two straps extend from the waist on each side, providing strength and support towards the upper leg.
Constructed from nylon and polyester, they stretch and can be adjusted with a Velcro belt for a personalized fit.
A single snap hook attaches to the bottom of the strap, hooking onto the shin support and compression pieces.
Shin support and compression
The shin support and compression pieces made of nylon and polyester, serves to improve circulation and blood flow to the user's legs.
On each side of the piece, three small straps can be hooked onto the top straps, allowing users to find the best fit in the front.
